So yesterday was the really long and tedious induction day where we given the same information over and over again from 9 am to 5 pm :/ and we were getting bored of not going off campus so we decided we were going to venture out ...
First of all the uni were hosting a lantern party where we had lanterns and ate Chinese moon-cake which was quite nice a pastry hidden sort of malt loaf that turned out to be red bean paste so nice and we took some lovely photos.
Then we were going to catch the bus from uni to the local bar called Jay Jays which was meant to be due at 11 it never came so we gave up and started walking home, then we sow it at half 11 come round the corner so Jazz (after been a turkey twizzler) ran for it and we ended up in Jay Jays. I can imagine the bar is very much like local bars you would get in Malaysia we went and we were the only people but we had an amazing time we practised Malay with the bartenders that were really impressed with how much we knew and then the bartender who was lovely asked if we had tried any malaysian food like the proper stuff and we were like errr no so he took is to the authentic malaysian place to eat and ordered us a variety of different dishes to try which were amazing they were lovely and we again got to try our Malay out. Bless the Bartender (Navi) he then paid for alll the food and took us back to campus.
It was such an amazing experience as you felt truly immersed into the culture i loved it. I have also come to realise in a country like Malaysia and i suppose any country if you want the full cultural experience the locals are the best ones to show you how. Sometimes its good to take a risk it pays off ... but always keep your distance and stay in a group :)
OMG in the bar too the man gave me the plug to play my own music in their so like 1 in the morning i only have my phone so like malaysia is listening to Vybz Kartel, Chris Martin and Jah Cure lol :P xxx
